Wedding Film Sound Design and Audio Post

From $250 · dialogue repair, mixing, mastering

Standalone sound design and audio post for wedding films. Dialogue cleanup, noise reduction, music mixing, ambience and loudness mastering, including rescue work on ceremony audio that did not record cleanly. From $250.

Sound is the half of a wedding film nobody compliments and everybody notices. A beautiful cut with muddy vows is a film the couple will not rewatch.

It is also the part most videographers like doing least, and the part that is hardest to fix once the couple has already heard it.

From $250.

What Is Included

Everything, rather than a list of tiers:

  • Dialogue cleanup and repair on vows, speeches and readings.
  • Noise reduction: air conditioning, wind, room hum, the hiss on a lav that was too far away.
  • Music mixing, with levels ridden so speech stays intelligible under a score instead of fighting it.
  • Ambience and foley where the day is too quiet, so silence feels like a room rather than a dropout.
  • Loudness mastering, so the film sits at a sensible level on a phone speaker, a laptop and a television without anyone reaching for the volume.

Rescuing Audio That Went Wrong

The ceremony is the least repeatable audio of the day and the most likely to fail. A lav that rubbed on a jacket, a celebrant who stepped away from the microphone, a room with a two-second reverb tail, wind straight across a shotgun mic.

We repair that as far as it can be repaired. We are also straight with you about the ceiling: some of it comes back, some of it does not, and the difference is audible within a minute of listening.

Send it before you tell your couple anything. We will tell you what is recoverable rather than promising a rescue and delivering an apology.

What It Costs, and How It Is Measured

From $250 for a film of one to one and a half minutes, scaling with runtime and complexity.

Two things worth saying plainly.

Sound design is priced by finished runtime and difficulty, not by how much footage you sent. Ninety seconds with a damaged ceremony recording underneath it is a bigger job than five minutes of clean audio.

And you may notice a teaser is $250 complete, including sound. That is because when we edit the film ourselves we choose the takes, and we can choose them partly for how they sound. Working on a film someone else has cut means taking the audio exactly as it arrives, including the takes that were chosen for how they looked.

What You Get Back

Three things, if you want all of them:

  • The mixed audio track, ready to lay against your picture.
  • The rendered video with the finished mix married to it.
  • The project file with its assets, so future changes are yours to make.

How to Send Us the Work

Footage goes on Google Drive, Dropbox or whichever cloud storage you already use. There is no size limit.

Fill in the project intake form so we know what you are after before we start, and send a reference: a film of yours, a look you like, anything concrete. A reference is worth more than three paragraphs of description.

Turnaround

Standard turnaround is 7 to 8 working days. Tell us the date you have to hit and we will confirm whether we can make it before you commit. Expedited delivery in 48 to 72 hours is available at +50%.

Under Your Brand

No watermark, no credit, no contact with your couple. NDAs and white-label agreements on request.

If you have not worked with us before we will do a sample on a few shots after a short call, so you can judge the result before committing to a whole project.

Common questions

How much does wedding film sound design cost?

From $250 for a film of one to one and a half minutes, scaling with runtime and complexity. It is priced by finished runtime and difficulty rather than by how much footage you send.

Why does sound design cost the same as a whole teaser edit?

Because when we cut the film ourselves we choose the takes, partly for how they sound. Working on a film someone else has cut means taking the audio exactly as it arrives, including takes that were chosen for how they looked.

Can you fix bad ceremony audio?

To the extent it can be fixed. Noise reduction, level repair and dialogue work recover a great deal, but some damage does not come back. Send it first and we will tell you honestly what is recoverable before you promise your couple anything.

What is included in sound design?

Dialogue cleanup, noise reduction, music mixing, ambience and foley, and loudness mastering. There are no tiers. It is the whole job.

Do I get stems or just a mixed track?

You get the mixed track, the rendered video with the mix married to it, and the project file with its assets so future changes are yours to make.

Do you supply the music?

If you have a track, send it and we mix to it, and that licence stays yours. We can supply licensed music within the platforms we have access to if you need it.

How do I send you the footage?

Google Drive, Dropbox or whichever cloud storage you already use. There is no size limit.

How long does it take?

Standard turnaround is 7 to 8 working days. Tell us your date and we will confirm before you commit. Expedited delivery in 48 to 72 hours is available at +50%.

Will my couple know you were involved?

Only if you tell them. No watermark, no credit, no contact with your clients, and we sign NDAs and white-label agreements on request.
